MEDIOBANCA WINE INDUSTRY SURVEY 2024

Due to inflation, 2023 saw growth in the premium and sustainable segments at the expense of the mid-range, according to Area Studi Mediobanca. In 2024 much optimism about bubbles: +6.8 percent exports.
According to a survey on the Italian wine sector by Area Studi Mediobanca, conducted on 253 Italian corporations with 2022 turnover of more than 20 million, accounting for 88.4 percent of the sector’s national turnover, Italy’s largest wine producers expect overall sales growth of +2.6 percent in 2024, and +3 percent in exports. Optimism does not stop for bubbles (+3.7% total revenues expected), especially across borders (+6.8% exports), while on still wines producers expect +2.3% (+2.2% exports). The study includes a focus on DOP and IGP wines, major m&a operations and sustainability.
